PM Harris, Brantley offers condolence, condemns Sri Lanka bombing

St Kitts and Nevis, Prime Minister Dr Timothy Harris and minister of foreign affairs, nark Brantley offered their condolences and condemnation after eight bomb blasts at several churches and luxury hotels killed more than 200 people and injured hundreds of others near the capital of Sri Lanka on Sunday.

St Kitts and Nevis Prime Minister Dr Timothy Harris in his tweet said: "My thoughts and prayers go out to all affected by this terrible tragedy & series of attacks in on what should be a day of and reflection."[caption id="attachment_3663" align="alignnone" width="100%"] Mark Brantley.[/caption]Minister of foreign affair, Mark Brantley tweeted "Our prayers are with the Government and people of Sri Lanka after the brutal attacks on churches and hotels there. Violence has no place in today’s world and must be universally condemned "

The explosions collapsed ceilings and blew out windows, and the dead included worshippers and hotel guests. People were seen carrying the wounded out of blood-spattered pews.

The three bombed hotels and one of the churches, St. Anthony’s Shrine, are frequented by foreign tourists. Sri Lanka’s Foreign Ministry said the bodies of at least 27 foreigners were recovered, and the dead included people from Britain, the U.S., India, Portugal, and Turkey.
