Barbadians can book appointments for COVID-19 vaccine online from June 12

The government of Barbados announced on Friday that the vaccine appointment website (http://www.vaccine.gov.bb/) would be functional for bookings for people who are over 50 years from midnight June 11.

Barbados: The government of Barbados announced on Friday that the vaccine appointment website (http://www.vaccine.gov.bb/) would be functional for bookings for people who are over 50 years from midnight June 11.

Click here to open vaccination website In a press release, the immunisation unit stated that it would officially start administering the first doses of the COVID-19 vaccine from Monday onwards at designated vaccination centres formally. The centres will be listed on the vaccination website. On the website, people who would like to take the COVID-19 vaccine shot will be able to log on and choose the date, time and location for their vaccination schedule. Notably, the official statement read that before making an appointment, persons who have had been tested positive for COVID-19 within the last 3 to 6 months are advised to not apply for the appointment as they would not be administered due to health precautions.

They will be required to fill in their personal information, including their mobile number and email address. Apart from this, they will also have to submit their medical information, which includes allergies and noncommunicable diseases in the required fields. The government assured that all the information provided by the individuals would be kept under strict confidence and it will not be made public under any circumstances.

It further lead that individuals may only book one appointment time slot for each person, and it is possible to re-schedule if it is necessary. After submitting the information, a person will receive an email or text message for the confirmation of their appointment.

It is necessary to bring the confirmation message or email along with the identification proof to the vaccination site to take the jab of the COVID-19 vaccine.
