Bahamas to receive 20,000 jabs of COVID-19 vaccine from India
The Office of the Prime Minister disclosed that The Bahamas would receive its first consignment of Oxford Astra Zeneca COVID-19 vaccines on Sunday,7 march from India.

Oxford AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine was pre-qualified by the World Health Organization, WHO, and received an approval of Emergency Use Listing (EUL) and a certification from WHO.
Besides, The vaccines have also secured certification from the Caribbean Regulatory System (CRS).
The compliment from India is part of India's promise to donate a total of 500,000 doses of the Oxford AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine to the Caribbean Community, CARICOM nations.Prime Minister of Bahamas Hubert Minnis acknowledged the administration of India for the donation on behalf of the Bahamian regime and the people of the nation.
Moreover, Prime Minister of Bahamas Hubert Minnis will provide a live update on the rollout of this first consignment of vaccines on Sunday, 7 March, at 5 pm.
The address would be aired live on ZNS Ch. 211 and local TV stations and live-streamed on the Office of the Prime Minister's official Facebook page.
Additionally, India is sharing vaccines under the program called 'Vaccine Maitri' and also shared 175000 vaccines to five Caribbean nations under the OECS organization. India aims to maintain vaccine equity all over the world. WHO is also working diligently to distribute the vaccine to safeguard every human being.
These vaccines are fabricated by the scientists of the Serum Institute of India, which holds which holds the potential to vaccinate 50% of the world's mass. Besides, it is the most comprehensive Biotechnological company for manufacturing vaccines all over the world. Talking about the second position, it is secured by the UK, and on the third, it is America's Johnsons & Johnsons company.
