The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are awaiting their second child, their office established on Sunday.

A spokesperson for Prince Harry, 36, and Meghan, 39, declared in a declaration: "We are confirming that Archie is now going to become a big brother. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are happy to be awaiting their second child."

In a black-and-white photo of themselves, the two sat near a tree with Harry's handset following Meghan's head as she lays down on his lap with her hand on her bump.

The baby is going to be the eighth in line to the British throne.

A Buckingham Palace representative said: "Her Majesty, Duke of Edinburgh, Prince of Wales and all people are felicitous and wish them well."

The duke mentioned to chimpanzee expert Jane Goodall in 2019 that he intends to have only two children for the planet.

Goodall said: "Not over many," and Harry replied: ``Two, maximum.''

Harry and American actor Meghan Markle given at Windsor Castle in May 2018. Their son Archie was born a year after.

In early 2020, Meghan and Harry stated they were quitting royal duties and moving to North America, calling what they said was the British media's unacceptable intrusions and discriminatory attitudes. They recently acquired a house in Santa Barbara, California.

In November, Meghan showed that she had a miscarriage in July 2020, giving a personal statement of the traumatic knowledge in the hope of helping others.
