Premier of Nevis Mark Brantley has finally spoken on the issue wherein a viral video; a woman could be seen disrupting the use of the beach by young children. She even called the police, demanding the removal of kids from the beach. In his statement on Tuesday, Mark Brantley stated that all beaches on the island of Nevis are public property and therefore free for the use and enjoyment of all members of the public. "Those who visit our island or choose to live on our island are welcomed and will experience no warmer or more genuine hospitality anywhere else in the world. I wish to be pellucid, however, that our generous hospitality must not be abused," said Brantley. He called the woman's behaviour offensive and unacceptable. As per Brantley, the woman involved and her spouse have apologized for her actions to the coaches, parents and students. "The behaviour exhibited on the videos is unacceptable and offensive and must be condemned unreservedly. I gather that the woman involved and her spouse has apologized for her actions to the coaches, parents and students. I have nevertheless asked the Ministry of Education to investigate and report further on the incident," he further added. "I am to hope that there will never ever be a repeat of such behaviour on Nevis, whether by her or anyone else," emphasized Brantley. The incident occurred recently when young primary school children were practising for their annual inter primary sports meet on a public beach. The kids were interfered with by a woman who sought to disrupt their use of the beach. The issue became highly popular after the video went viral, and Nevis Island Administration has taken note. The video quickly became a hot topic on social media, where a wide range of people demanded the Premier and Nevis Island Administration to intervene.
