Famous Bollywood singer, Kanika Kapoor has tested positive for the highly contagious disease Coronavirus after travelling from London. She has been accused of 'negligence', and First Information Report (FIR) has been lodged against her based on a complaint registered by the Chief Medical Officer of Lucknow.

The FIR - filed under Sections 188, 269, and 270 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) is currently registered against her by police.

A dinner that Kapoor attended in Lucknow has created a scare amongst various superior politicians to Delhi, including parliament and the President's House.

Now, the singer is hospitalized in Lucknow and claims that no problem was detected when she arrived at the airport and said she was oblivious that she was carrying coronavirus.

Former Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje tweeted that she and her son Dushyant Singh have self-quarantined because they were also among the politicians who had visited a dinner in Lucknow recently where Kanika Kapoor was a guest.

Indian President Ram Nath Kovind has also cancelled all his meetings because he met Dushyant Singh who was part of the same party attended by Kanika Kapoor.

While speaking to Indian media, Uttar Pradesh Health Minister Jai Pratap Singh who was also amongst the guests at the Lucknow party had accepted to failures at the airport in the state capital.

Kanika arrived in India on March 09 from London, after which she attended several high-class parties including a birthday party in a private residence's garden on March 14 which were participated in by significant politicians and prominent families.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has called for social distancing to curb the spread of coronavirus, however even though the presence of prominent politicians at a large gathering is raising questions.
