'Cancer likely cause' of Erin Moran death
Happy Days' Joanie found dead at home aged 56
Actress Erin Moran likely died of cancer, according to a corner's report.
The former Happy Days star was found dead at her home in Indiana over the weekend.In a statement to news agencies from Harrison Country Sheriff's Office and the county coroner, it emerged that Moran "likely succumbed to complications of stage 4 cancer."
Although further toxicology tests are pending "no illegal narcotics were found" at Moran's home.
The statement did not say what kind of cancer Moran had.
Moran began acting in TV and movies before she was 10 years old. In 1974 she was cast in Happy Days, with over a decade’s worth of experience behind her.
As well as appearing in the huge 1970s sitcom, she also appeared in spin-off Joanie Love Chachi alongside Scott Baio from 1982 to 1983.
In both series she starred as Joanie Cunningham, the younger sister to Ron Howard’s high school student Richie Cunningham.
