Justin Trudeau's Liberal again gets a minority government

Toronto, Canada: Liberal Party of Canada won the general elections held on Monday. But the Justin Trudeau led party once again failed to form a government of the majority. The elections were conducted more than three years before the due date, as the party endeavoured to form a majority government, which it again failed at.

Liberals again elected in 157 seats — almost the same they succeeded on in 2019, 13 short of the 170 required to form a majority in the House of Commons. The opposition conservatives also got 121 seats as it won in 2019.

Many people opposed Trudeau for calling early elections amidst a pandemic. The opposition's campaign was largely based on Justin Trudeau's concerns about himself instead of the general public. At the same time, Liberals' campaign was based on pandemic vaccine status.

As per Justin Trudeau, Canadians do not want a conservative government because of their approaches to lockdowns and vaccine mandates.

Conservative Party leader Erin O'Toole didn't want his party's candidates to be immunized and would not say how many were not vaccinated against COVID-19.

A political science professor at McGill University in Montreal- Daniel Béland, stated that Justin Trudeau lost the gamble he did for his personal ambitions.
