12 million disabled people face displacement across the globe: UN

While providing information about the problems faced by the disabled
people, United Nations cited, "12 million people with disabilities have been forcibly displaced. Many are at increased risk of violence, exploitation and abuse, and face barriers to access basic services".Further, the report of the World Health Organization also stated that around 15 percent of the population across the globe has been suffering from different disabilities. It was also estimated that about several million people had been displaced. Moreover, the reports of the WHO also suggested that people has become invisible within uprooted communities.
While explaining the problems of the disabled person, World Health Organisation cited that the people who are disabled are not included in the homogenous group as they have different capabilities and needs. People contribute in other ways to their communities, and when any type of crisis is outbreak across the globe, they face huge risk of discrimination, exploitation and violence.
People with disabilities also face great obstacles and did not able to meet the essential humanitarian assistance.
By specifying the efforts made by the UNHCR, United Nations explained, "At UNHCR, we have worked for the upliftment of the person who is fighting with any kind of disability. With the various projects, the organisation have ensured that women, girls, men and boys become able to meet their basic needs and get the access to vital services".
United Nations further emphasized that to create more opportunities which could apply their skills and capacities and also aid them to face any difficulty. Moreover, the upliftment of the people with disabilities will also lead them to serve their families and communities, underscored United nations.
It asserted that they are working dedicatedly to ensure the safety of the people with disabilities and also working in a way to create long-term solutions.Latest
