Trinidad and Tobago police captured a Barataria man in possession of a gun and ammunition. Police officials stated that the man was captured during an operation strike back three exercises conducted between 3 pm and 8 pm on Monday. He has been recognised as Chine from Salamat street.

Police told media that the arrest was made during a mobile patrol along Lootoo Street, El Socorro, Barataria Ag/Cpl Rakissoon, PC Voisin, PC Nanan, and PC Villareul when stopped a man behaving suspiciously.

When the officers searched the man, PC Nanan found a firearm, and a magazine with six rounds of ammunition, tucked in the waistband of his trousers. Police took possession of the firearm and ammunition; the man was arrested and taken to the San Juan Police Station.

The exercise was spearheaded by Ag/ACP Andy Belfon, Ag/Snr Supt Winston Maharaj, ASP Pariman, Insp Bharath, coordinated by Ag/Sgt Qashie and supervised by Ag/Cpl Ramkissoon and Ag/Cpl George.
