Trinidad: A 61-year Old Women was allegedly raped at the point of a gun by an armed man at her community residence in Point Fortin on Sunday

Trinidad: A 61-year Old woman was allegedly raped at gunpoint in her community residence in Point Fortin on Sunday Morning. As per reports, the woman woke up early, around 5 AM, to find a man standing close to her.
The victim told the authorities that the suspect was someone known to her who deliberately entered her house. He struck her face and raped her, and immediately escaped from her home.
However, after the incident, the woman was immediately taken to the Siparia District Health Facility for treatment and examination. The Police have been still under the operation to find the suspect. They are also trying to gather some more information into the matter.
With this, Trinidad has recorded another brutal rape in the early of 2024. The Tragic incident has left everybody in the community shocked. Community residents have also expressed their dismay and deep grief about the incident.
They are also holding the Government responsible for giving hypes to such criminals to do such brutal and vicious acts behind the curtains of inefficient administration.
"The Government See that as normal behaviour to them; it is not a crime, and in court, they are not Criminal, so everyone walking around free like free," a user said. While others were also seen as deeply moved by the incident, they felt sad for the woman who knows the suspect. "A man she knows...so sad," a user named Leonara Baboolal said.
While Previously, in a chat social media session, when the public was asked for their opinions about the authority's effectiveness in addressing rape and other sexual-related crime cases. The public was seen as outrageously sad and expressing discomfort and belief in the system.
"No, from taking the report to the investigation, laying charges and prosecution is a big joke...unless it is an opponent of the government...," a user said. "NO! Because it’s the police and their pardnas doing the raping," other users reacted in disregard of the Government and authorities of the nation.
