Trinidad and Tobago police official dies of COVID-19 related complications
Trinidad and Tobago continue to face new challenges due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Recently, nine people died while 359 caught infections in the country. One of the deceased includes a Trinidad and Tobago police official who lost his life due to coronavirus related complications.

PC Ramkissoon, 45, passed away on Wednesday, January 26th, 2022, at the Sangre Grande Hospital due to complications from COVID. He became a member of the TTPS on August 11th 1997, and dedicated 21 years to the service before going on leave in 2018. He was due to return to work on Thursday, January 27th, 2022, however due to complications he lost his life.

Commissioner of Police (Ag.) Mc Donald Jacob and the Executive of the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) are sent out condolences to the family and coworkers of No. 14067 Police Constable Kerry Ramkissoon.

He will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by his colleagues.

PC Ramkissoon leaves to mourn his 19 and 16-year-old daughters and his sister. Since the beginning of the pandemic, the island has seen a total of 3,404 deaths as of January 31, 2022. According to the health ministry's report, healthcare facilities reported a total of 111,549 confirmed COVID-19 cases.

Six people died with several comorbidities, two died with only one comorbidity, and one died with no known medical issues. Meanwhile, 39 COVID-19 patients were recovered and discharged from hospital facilities on January 31, 2022, bringing the total number of recovered people to 88,304.
