Trinidad and Tobago confirms another case of 'Delta Variant'
The Ministry of Health Trinidad and Tobago reported that country recorded another case of the contagious "delta variant" of the COVID-19. As per officials, the patient is a national who returned from Turks and Caicos.

The presence of the variant was confirmed after the samples were tested by the Faculty of Medical Sciences, University of the West Indies.

The officials noted that the person had transitted through Florida and had a negative RT-PCR report taken 72-hours before Travel into the country. The patient was immediately taken to a state-supervised quarantine facility, and after the 7th-day swab testing, he was shifted to a step-down facility.

The authorities said it is the seventh confirmed case of the "delta variant" in Trinidad and Tobago.

As per the World Health Organization (WHO) data, the delta variant has been found in 174 countries globally. The symptoms include fever, sore throat, body aches and weaknesses. It is suspected to be four times more contagious than the usual coronavirus illness.

People who catch the "delta variant" of coronavirus are more likely to face severe illness, and in some cases, the lungs of the patients are entirely destroyed, leading to death.

The health officials reminded the public that the world is facing critical times, and by exercising some caution, everyone can be safeguarded from the virus. The general public has been advised to wear face masks, exercise social distancing, sanitize hands.
