"Prime Minister Rowley appears to be unable to keep up with his own propaganda talking points," she added.
Kamla Persad-Bissessar's further statement:In a sheer act of desperation, Rowley actually admitted that his SOE was harmful to businesses, the overall wellbeing of the country and therefore needed to end immediately. Ironically, these were precisely the Opposition's arguments against Rowley’s SOE on multiple occasions.
After months of Rowley’s power grab, the statistics paint a grim reality under the guise of managing Covid-19. Covid-19 infections are dramatically increasing along with deaths. Additionally, violent crime is once again skyrocketing. After months of Rowley’s SOE, the nation is far less safe and far less stable.
I also wish to remind Dictator Rowley that ending the SOE is not a gift to the country's people. It is an insult for him to demand that the nation bow down and thank him for restoring the freedoms that belong to them. It is blatantly clear that the only reason Dictator Rowley is removing the SOE a few days before its expiration is because of his desperation to the campaign, given the PNM’s low ratings in Tobago in the run-up to the THA elections. Rowley has shown repeatedly that his actions and his Government's actions have nothing to do with saving lives and livelihoods. Instead, his priority seems set on keeping his own political life in Tobago.Latest
