Over 44.6% population vaccinated in St Kitts and Nevis

Basseterre, St Kitts: Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis Dr Timothy Harris has applauded the country's efforts of inoculating 44.6 percent population. He stated that herd immunity is achievable.
"We're moving forward to get inoculated against the dangerous #coronavirus Congratulations to the 44.6 percent who have taken their 1st dose. #HerdImmunity is achievable if we all act responsibly. Vaccinate now. Protect yourself. Let's put our economy on a firmer path of recovery." stated Prime Minister Timothy Harris on Twitter.
As of Wednesday, May 19, 2021, over 19,320 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine were administered in St Kitts and Nevis. While 14,433 first doses have been administered in St Kitts, only 4,887 have received their first doses in Nevis.
As per the health ministry's recent data published on Wednesday, 44.6% of percent population have received the first dose of the coronavirus vaccine, and only 13.8% have received both doses.
The government's goal is to vaccinate 33,037 people to achieve herd immunity. Prime Minister Dr Timothy Harris and other cabinet members have advised people to receive their jabs and contribute to the country's efforts of achieving herd immunity.
