Nekirah Nicholls crowned as the new Queen of St Kitts and Nevis

Nekirah Nicholls is now the Miss St Kitts Queen after receiving 1158 points and winning a whopping 8 of the 12 categories. Just behind her were first runner up Kahnein Blanchette (1089 points) and 2nd runner Up Saskia Evans (928 points). The newly crowned Miss St Kitts Nekirah Nicholls secretly did her masters on her own in an amazing show of independence and dedication. She posted this on her Facebook page last year, thanking her mother for all she has done for her: "I decided to embark on this journey (Masters Degree) right after my Bachelors. Was, is the right thing to do? I don't know but I don't regret it because the journey taught me alottttt and I hold and still remain firm on my decision on coming back home to St.kitts. Yes I have dual citizenship and yes I may be in the so called place call "Land of Opportunities" where I can make "Big Money", but home is home and I am very passionate about bringing Financial Literacy to my people. Also, New York is not cheap! I started this journey without knowing how I'll pay for the upcoming semesters and without having a job. Luckily I saved throughout my bachelors working on campus and retail jobs and playing the stock market (only for the brave sometimes haha - call me risk averse) It was a year and a half of keeping a secret from my family… So yes just like you it was a surprise until this week! you may ask why? 1. The negative comments I received about embarking on this journey from loved ones I thought would be the most supportive. 2. I was adamant about not taking a loan. Which brings me to the next point of …. 3. My mother! My mother does not have it all and anyone who knows her knows she caters and cook and cook and cook until her feet are really swollen and still have a 9-5. If she knew she would have worked twice as hard to assist me! I really did not want her to feel that kind of pressure. Even without her knowing she assisted me in so many ways over this last 18months! Please take the time out and watch this special Video I created for my mom about my journey.
