Former National Player Community Activist Kendale Liburd was invited on Monday to extend best wishes and impart some of his experiences to young footballers travelling with the National U20 team.
Liburd, who is now also the People's Labour Party (PLP) candidate for constituency number four, gave words of motivation and inspiration to the young footballers.
In a social media post, Kendal Liburd expressed his pleasure in having the opportunity to greet the players and personally wish them future success."Today, I had the privilege of greeting and extending best wishes to some of our constituency's rising footballers. They join St Kitts and Nevis Under 20 male football team to prepare to represent us on the world's stage,"
The team travelled to Honduras to participate in the U20 CONCACAF championship tournament. They will be playing in Group E against USA, Cuba, and Canada. The team can possibly advance as Olympic qualifiers, depending on their performance.
"Our prayers and support are with this group of young men who continue to make a positive contribution to society," added Liburd.
