The kid has been identified as Gabriel, who was among five persons killed in western Jamaica between Wednesday and Thursday.
Following Gabriel's gruesome death, there have been a lot of different stories about how he died. It is thought that around 11 am on Wednesday, the child and his mother were driving from Tucker to downtown Montego Bay in an Audi car. The mother is said to have slowed down to avoid a pothole on the road when two men came up to her, slapped her face, took her out of her car, and then drove away with Gabriel sitting in the back.
The woman then called the police, and a search was done in the area. The car was found by the road in Fairfield. The child's body was found on the back seat with its throat cut. Deputy chair Dwight Crawford said that the gruesome murder of the child in broad daylight shows how badly this country needs to be put into a state of emergency (SOE). He asked the People's National Party to support the government's plan to bring back SOEs as a crime-fighting tool.Shockingly, over 13 people have been killed in St James in the last 13 days. After Gabriel's death, Ishmar Campbell, 26, was shot and killed near the Mount Salem Police Station, right where Gabriel was murdered.
Mount Salem police stated that around 6 pm, Campbell was standing on the main road. A car with a group of men on board came up behind him. The men had handguns and fired at him several times before speeding away. In the hospital, they found that he had died. He was taken there by ambulance and died.
