St Lucia confirms 16 new cases of coronavirus
Caribbean country St Lucia has confirmed 14 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours, on Tuesday, July 13, 2021, as per the Ministry of Health and Wellness.

St Lucia: Caribbean country St Lucia has confirmed 14 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours, on Tuesday, July 13, 2021, as per the Ministry of Health and Wellness.
Ezra Long Laboratory has submitted these reports among the people of St Lucia.
Notably, These results are from a batch of 225 samples taken during the period July 9, 2021, to July 12, 2021. These samples were processed on July 12, 2021.
Also, These individuals were seen at various respiratory clinics in communities where they were evaluated and tested for COVID-19. In keeping with the national coronavirus testing protocol, they were each placed in home quarantine by healthcare practitioners expecting receipt of their test results.
The Health Ministry of St Lucia has made arrangements which have been made to place these new cases in isolation. The contact tracing for these individuals is underway.
Confirmation was also obtained of the recovery of 4 individuals bringing the total number of active cases in the country to date to 140.
Presently, three of the active cases are requiring critical care at the Respiratory Hospital. The new coronavirus cases which bring the total number of cases diagnosed in the country to date to 5430.
Moreover, as of July 12, 2021, a total of 31,340 people have received the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine and 22, 653 individuals have received the second dose of the vaccine.
Tomorrow Wednesday, July 14, 2021, the health team will be administering the COVID-19 vaccine at the Dennery Mothers’ Pre-School and the Vigie Sports Complex. Unvaccinated adults are encouraged to get vaccinated to protect themselves, family, friends and others from the COVID-19 virus.
The Ministry of Health of St Luc reminds the public that we are still managing the COVID-19 pandemic; therefore, it is important that people adhere to public health measures. We appeal to everyone to prioritize their health and safety at this time and to take all the necessary measures & behaviours to reduce the spread of this disease.
Health Ministry of St Lucia urged Every citizen to remain vigilant as the risk of the introduction of coronavirus variants remains high.
"Let us all adhere to the protocols that are put in place to protect us from COVID-19 infection," it added.
They also appealed to people; these include frequent hand washing, use of a face mask in public places covering the nose, mouth and chin, avoiding crowds and mass crowd activities, sanitizing frequently touched surfaces and keeping away from people if experiencing respiratory symptoms and seeking medical care immediately.
