An electric cable fell on fans as they watched Manchester United play on TV last week, killing at least seven in Nigeria.
Police say at more than 30 people were taken to hospital in the southern city of Calabar after a high-tension cable hit a crowded shack.
Local media reports state that the shack had a zinc roof, which conducted the electricity.
English football has a strong following in the African nation. The Manchester club were playing Belgium's Anderlecht in the quarter final of the Europe League.
