Capitol Violence: Trump to be impeached

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi disclosed Sunday the House would proceed with legislation to impeach President Donald Trump as she promotes the vice president and the Cabinet to request legal police force him out, warning that Trump is an imminent threat to democracy after the violent assault on the Capitol.

The Housework could start as soon as Monday as interest went up on Trump to step aside. A Republican senator, Pat Toomey of Pennsylvania, joined Republican Sen. Lisa Murkowski of Alaska is asking for Trump to "resign and go away as quickly as possible."

An expected end to Trump's final ten days in office was started as lawmakers told of the damage the administration could still do before Joe Biden was inaugurated on January 20.

Trump, holed up in and at the White House, was more private after a mob rioted in the Capitol in support of his false narratives of election fraud.

"We are going to act with urgency because this President serves an imminent threat," Pelosi said late Sunday to colleagues.

"The horror of the assault on our country's democracy committed by this President is intensified, and so is the immediate need for action."

On Monday, Pelosi's leadership pair will seek a vote on a resolution calling on Vice President Mike Pence and Cabinet officials to immediately invoke the 25th Amendment, with a full House vote needed on Tuesday.

After that, Pence and the Cabinet would almost have 24 hours to act before the House would move toward impeachment.
