Belize, Grenada, St Kitts and Nevis added in CDC's "Level-4" COVID-19 list

Island destinations from the Caribbean joined a handful of Eastern European countries shifted into the "Level-4" COVID-19 lists of the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

The new list released by CDC added nine new countries under the limitations. It includes three Caribbean countries currently suffering from devastating waves of the COVID-19 pandemic.

On Monday, Grenada, Saint Kitts and Nevis were moved to the "Level 4: Covid-19 Very High" category on the CDC's evolving travel information list.

The CDC recommended that people avoid travelling to places designated with the "Level 4: Covid-19 Very High" note.

"Everyone who travels should be fully vaccinated first," said CDC.

The CDC's travel notifications range from level 1 ("low") to level 4 ("very high").

According to CDC criteria, destinations that fall into the "Covid-19 Very High" category four-category have received more than 500 cases per 100,000 inhabitants in the last 28 days.

"Fully vaccinated travellers are less likely to get and spread Covid-19. However, international travel poses additional risks, and even fully vaccinated travellers may be more at risk of getting and possibly spreading some Covid-19 variants," said the Agency.
