Gun violence in St Lucia: Man shot dead famous photographer Tervelle Gabriel at home

In the last few days, gun violence in St Lucia dangerously increased, and armed gangs are again active islandwide. In such an incident on Tuesday, a gunman shot dead a famous photographer at his home. As per reports, Tervelle Gabriel was resting on his couch when an armed man entered his Balata home, shooting him three times before making his exit.
The incident happened after Gabriel finished dinner with his father and was resting on the couch. He was rushed to OKEU hospital, where the doctor pronounced him brought dead.
The 23-year-old photographer was renowned for his aesthetic skills and was quite famous for his work. The brutal murder left everyone in shock, and thousands of people are sending condolences to his family in the tough times.
Association of Professional Photographers St. Lucia gave tribute to the deceased by posting a video of him on their Facebook account. They wrote, "Rest in Power Tervelle", followed by a symbol of a pigeon.
Recently, Parliamentary Representative for Vieux-Fort South Kenny D. Anthony has expressed his concerns over the rising gun violence in St Lucia.
The murder of Tervelle Gabriel is being condemned by all. The leader of opposition Allen Chastanet also expressed the concerns and called for peace in St Lucia. He said, "It’s always heartbreaking to know that someone has lost their life tragically, especially the life of a young person with so much talent and undoubtedly with a bright future ahead."
The amount of suddenly increased gun violence in St Lucia is alarming. While the authorities claim of working to reduce the crime, no difference has been seen so far. On Saturday night, the entire town of Vieux Fort South was experiencing high notes of gunshots being fired; many residents couldn't sleep and kept on calling authorities to take note of the situation. So far, the police have not been much successful in capturing the culprits.
