Come with a light snack and water at vaccine centres, advises PM Chastanet

Prime Minister Allen Chastanet asked people to take the coronavirus vaccine and contribute to the country's efforts of lowering the virus numbers.

Castries, St Lucia: COVID-19 vaccine is the last resort in the fight against contagious viral disease. The small Caribbean island of St Lucia has released the new vaccination schedule for this week. The vaccination drive will commence from Tuesday, May 25- to Friday, May 28, 2021. Individuals visiting the vaccination sites to receive the second dose of the vaccine are asked to walk with the vaccination card, which was given when the first dose of the vaccine was administered. The authorities also asked people to walk with a form of identification to facilitate the registration process.  "It is also recommended to come with a light snack and water given the possibility of a waiting time to get vaccinated," stated Prime Minister Allen Chastanet. Authorities stated that vaccination sites across the country would be operational from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. People are also encouraged to use the mobile vaccination clinics at various high traffic areas around the island.  Authorities noted that the mobile clinic would also cater to those receiving the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine as well as individuals receiving the second dose of the vaccine. People are also advised to Community Nursing Service at 468- 5321/468-5381 for any additional information.
