Three officers injured, but no fatalities in the police operation at Salisbury Dominica says Police Chief
In an audio message, Police Chief of Dominica assured that no fatalities were recorded in the recent police conduct, nobody has lost lives, and around three policemen were injured.

People of the small Caribbean island of Dominica are polling today for general elections. From past few days, the nation is facing violent acts of protests. Demonstrators in Marigot and Salisbury had blocked roads from several days and to unblock the ways Dominican police conducted an operation on Thursday.

In an audio message, Police Chief of Dominica assured that no fatalities were recorded in the recent police conduct, nobody has lost lives, and around three policemen were injured.
As per Police Chief, people in Salisbury tried to bomb off the police station and attacked the police and Regional Security System, to control the situation the police had to use rubber bullets and tear gases.
Dominican police and conducted the joint operation with RSS (Regional Security System) to handle the situation in the wake of general elections. As the blockage of roads in Salisbury and Marigot by the community members were creating an inconvenience.
"People in Salisbury had blocked the roads, the set debris on fire and there was a lot of trash on the way. Police tried to unblock the streets, but the people took violent action and attacked the police. Demonstrators also tried to bomb the Salisbury police station, So the cops had to use necessary force, and in that situation, police used tear gases and rubber bullets." added police chief.
"I want to confirm and tell the public that at no time police used live ammunition in the community of Salisbury. "
Police Chief told that the Marigot road was unblocked by the same people who had blocked it and the situation in the country is under control.
"Three of my officers got injuries, there have been no fatalities, and nobody has lost their lives in this operation," added Police Chief.
