Antigua and Barbuda: The Immigration Department's detention facility in Antigua has launched a search engine to catch two female nationals of Jamaica who reportedly made a good escape from the facility.
The females named Tiffanie Stephanie Howell and Donnalee Samantha Salmon are now wanted by police officials in Antigua and Barbuda.
According to the sources, on Saturday, January 20 2024, two detainees, a student and a hairdresser, made a good escape from the centre by breaking the glass of the bathroom window.
It is also said that during that time, four officers were on duty, but they engrossed themselves in a television programme due to which they didn't get to know when both young females escaped.
After some time, the officers searched the neighbourhoods for the two escapees, but they were not found.
The reports claim that both of them, who have not been found yet, were in Antigua after their trip had been sponsored by a Trinidad and Tobago national who holds an Antigua and Barbuda passport.
While asking the public for assistance in finding both of these females, the Antigua and Barbuda Department of Immigration issued a wanted bulletin for Tiffanie Stephanie Howell and Donnalee Samantha Salmon.
HOWELL, a Jamaican National, is 30 years old, fair in complexion, approximately five ft. 6 inches in height, slimly built, and weighing approximately 135 lbs.
SALMON is also a Jamaican National, 23 years old, dark in complexion, approximately five ft. 6 inches in height, slimly built, and weighing about 125 lbs.
Both of them are wanted after absconding from the Department's Detention Center on Saturday, January 20 2024.
While urging the public to help, the department said, "Anyone with information on the whereabouts of HOWELL is asked to contact the Immigration Enforcement Unit at 764-3240 or 562-5394. The public can also contact the nearest Police Station."
Reportedly, this is the third time in recent times during which detainees have broken out of the Immigration Centre.
