All preparations are in place for Dominica Labour Party’s candidate launch event in capitol city Roseau on Sunday. The party claims that the event will be a power-packed political show.

With much stake, the DLP has gone all out in the past several days while making arrangements for this event. It was scheduled to be taken place on 13 July, but due to inclement weather, the event was postponed for a week to July 21.

The DLP event will take place in Lindo Park, Federation Drive at Goodwill for the launch of their candidate for Roseau North constituency, Joseph Isaac. According to information provided by DLP, the Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit’s guest speech will be followed by the guest speakers, DLP candidate for Roseau Valley – Dr Irving Mclntyre, Soufriere – Denise Charles, Roseau Central – Melissa Skerrit, Mahaut – Rayburn Blackmoore and Portsmouth – Ian Douglas.

Prime Minister took it to social media to call upon people to join the event in Lindo Park at 2 pm on Sunday, he also urged the public to change their outfits into ‘Labour’ style. “Comrades. Tomorrow, Sunday, we make history again with the official candidate launch of Joseph Isaac for the Constituency of Roseau North! I look forward to seeing you at Lindo Park, tomorrow, Sunday from 2 pm. You have enough time to go to church early and then change into your Labour outfits for the launch at 2 pm. Forward we go, forward we go...”, wrote PM.

In addition to this, there will be melodious touch to the political evening with Signal Band, Benji, Daddy Chess, Arden P, Reo, ColtonT and more to heat the stage with gusto among the crowd.

On the other hand, the United Workers Party Eastern Zone Rally was also postponed from last Sunday to July 21, which will take place at Willie’s Junction in La Plaine. According to UWP, the event will focus on a strategic approach to rural development and will be addressed by Lennox Linton and other candidates of the party. The theme for the event will be ‘Modernising Dominica – Strategic Rural Development’.
