St Kitts and Nevis: Chief Surgeon and Medical Chief of Staff of the Health Institutes in St. Kitts Dr Cameron Wilkinson gave a reminder to people of St Kitts and Nevis. He noted four simple steps to beat COVID-19 :

1. Get vaccinated

2. Wear a mask around others

3. Hand sanitize frequently

4. Stay at least 6ft from others in public if you can

Dr Cameron Wilkinson further noted that the more of us who follow these steps, the more protected we all will be as we attempt to return to some sense of normalcy.

Also, he notified that SKN has 70.3 percent of the adult population with their first shot and 58.1 percent fully vaccinated.

Moreover, he added, " As we emerge from the lockdown, we see our hospitalization numbers for Covid are at an all-time low since the outbreak."

Wilkinson further pointed out that, we also continue to record recoveries daily and a significant fall in the number of positives cases.

"Getting vaccinated significantly decreases your risk of getting Covid 19 and transmitting it to others. It also significantly decreases your risk of getting severely ill and dying from Covid-19," he noted.

In addition to adopting Covid -19 appropriate behaviour, getting vaccinated is our best long term defence.

He urged people to not let the weekend pass without getting vaccinated.

If you are already vaccinated, please share this with those who you know are not and encourage them to go forward and protect themselves by getting vaccinated.

He appealed to people, "Let us all put country above self and get vaccinated not just to protect ourselves but those who are dependent on us, including our children, our pregnant mothers and the very old and frail."
