Social worker Tiffeny Jones distributing free care packages in St Lucia
To tackle the unprecedented conditions, Non-Profit Organisations are coming forward to aid the vulnerable of the small Caribbean island of St Lucia.

In a special interview with WIC NEWS, Tiffeny Jones answered the following questions:
Question: What are the items you are providing in care packages? Answer: We are attempting to facilitate the beneficiaries mainly with food items. We are distributing food can and other essential food items. Question: How are you choosing beneficiaries for care packages? Answer: Our beneficiaries are chosen mainly by our members who know of a person in need, and also, when we go into the community, persons are sometimes pointed out to us. Question: Who are the beneficiaries of these care packages? Answer: We're trying to help people in need, mainly the elderly, single-parent households, and households with no income. Question: What is the duration of your initiative? Answer: We don't have a duration time; as long as we're receiving funds, we will continue with our care package program. Question: On what basis are you prioritizing the people? Answer: We're helping the needy as long as the individual needs the little assistance we're willing to help. Question: How many days would these care packages last to one beneficiary? Answer: It depends on the size of the family it would like from a couple of days to a week or two.
