PM Skerrit discuss the issues concerning national security of Dominica in his talk show

Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit was joined by Minister Rayburn Blacknirem Chief of Police Daniel Carbon and Deputy Chief Lincoln Corbette for this week's Anou Palay: One on One with PM Skerrit on Sunday.
The special guests were invited by the Prime Minister to talk about the security and safety of the country.
Speaking about the illegal entry to Dominica, the police chief Daniel Carbon asserted that unlawful entrance into the borders of the country had been an issue from a long time and officials are deployed at several different places on the island to ensure no unauthorised individual enters the country.
"This has been happening from a long time as there are people who come from french islands, but the coast guards are always on the waters day and night to ensure the safety." added the Chief of Dominican Police.
The deputy police chief stated that the high court judge has ruled that the 42 illegal immigrants who were arrested should be sent back to where they came from.
In addition to that, Minister for National Security and Home Affairs Rayburn Blackmore discussed the penalities these illegal immigrants can face under the Dominican law.
Discussing the challenges faced by the police, the chief of police explained the yearly data presenting the number of robberies and sexual offences that occurred in Dominica between 2018-2019.
Prime Minister stated that in crimes against society, it is extremely essential for all of us to come together to control such misconducts.
Furthermore, Prime Minister Dr Roosevelt Skerrit stated that Dominica continues to manage COVID-19 and its impact on various sectors of the community. Besides this, the leader also commended the public officers working and assisting the government in preventing the virus and keeping Dominica safe.
The Prime Minister also thanked the people for following the protocols of public health.
