PM Drew meets IRENA's DG Francesco La Camera, discusses geothermal project
Prime Minister Dr Terrance Drew engaged in a very successful and productive meeting with the Director General of the IRENA - International Renewable Energy Agency, Francesco La Camera

During the meeting, they discussed the upcoming geothermal project, and it was a follow-up meeting to the one which the leaders had on the sidelines of COP28.
PM Drew said that he also discussed with IRENA's Chief of Protocol the possibility of St. Kitts and Nevis hosting the next meeting of the agency in the Federation. The meeting also centered around the advancement of geothermal projects in the Caribbean, showing the government's dedication to sustainable energy solutions.The meeting between both leaders marked a major milestone in St. Kitts and Nevis' journey towards a greener future.

St Kitts and Nevis' collaboration with such an esteemed organization shows its dedication to embracing innovative solutions that align with international sustainability goals.The discussions with IRENA's Chief of Protocol further shows the government's willingness to actively participate in shaping the future of renewable energy on an international scale. It is to be noted that the Prime Minister held this meeting in United Arab Emirates where he is presently to meet investors and discuss significant geothermal investments projects set to take place in the country.He is continuing his efforts to lobby for funding that would help bring the long-discussed geothermal energy to fruition. This project is set to provide several new opportunities of employment to the people of the Federation.
