Nevis: Brantley attends Mini-Olympics held between public-private schools, greets winners

St Kitts and Nevis: Premier of Nevis and Leader of Concerned Citizens Movement Mark Brantley attended the Mini-Olympics held between Public and private schools across Nevis on Thursday, April 28, 2022.

Premier of Nevis Mark Brantley extends an appreciation to Junior Minister of Education Troy Liburd and his team for staging a spectacular Mini Olympics yesterday.

Premier Brantley had already announced that plans are in progress to host the Mini Olympics in April after the imposition of the restrictions on various social gatherings and mass events due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Mini-Olympics is the annual Internal Primary School Championship which is highly anticipated in Nevis. It is also known as one of the largest events on the calendar of the Caribbean island.

Further, Premier of Nevis also applauded the commencement of the event, and "the atmosphere of the Mini Olympics was absolutely electric" for Premier of Nevis.

In addition to that, the Leader of CCM also lauded Charlestown Primary School and the Maude Crosse Preparatory School for their spectacular performance. He greeted the schools to turn out winners in zones A and B.

Brantley noted, "Of course, congratulations to the Charlestown Primary School and the Maude Crosse Preparatory School for emerging champions in zones A and B."

Besides this, he also commended teachers and coaches for bringing out great athletes from normal students.

He said, "Congratulations to all the other schools as well, their teachers, coaches, parents and most of all, the student-athletes."

While expressing pleasure in the normalising situation in Nevis, Brantley asserted that After two hiatus years of the COVD-19 pandemic, the island is recovering efficiently and now bouncing back.

"After two years of the Covid pandemic, the island of Nevis is bouncing back. Praise be to God, "underlined Brantley.

Various residents of Nevis greet the authorities for hosting such extra-curricular activities for the students of Nevis.

A resident Esther Prentice said, "Watching from America and seeing my Nevis with a state of the art athletic Stadium blesses my heart!! Hats off to you my premier!! The view was so pristine it's like I was there!! Congratulations to all involved and to all the schools, especially my school Charlestown Primary. Job well done."
