Melissa announces new faces for Youth Parliament; states, “two exceptional orators are ready”
Melissa Skerrit announced youth names who will be the representatives of Roseau Central Constituency at the National Youth Parliament.

The newly announced presenters are former winners of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association's 2014 sitting Keanu Winston and Paloma Mark. The Parliamentary Representative mentioned that “two exceptional orators are ready to make a positive impact on their wider community”.
Melissa Skerrit was quoted as, “The future is bright! I am very proud to present the former winner of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association's 2014 sitting Keanu Winston and Paloma Mark, who will be representing Roseau Central at the National Youth Parliament carded for March 23-24, 2022.”
She further lauded the young population of Dominica and expressed gratitude that the country’s youth has been passionate about the development. She asked the parents for encouraging their children to participate in the Parliament proceedings so that their interests can be developed to become senators, Parliamentary Representatives or politicians. Melissa mentioned, “Parents, expose your children to Parliament proceedings as these current youth parliamentarians developed an interest in that manner and will most likely go on to be senators, Parliamentary Representatives or future politicians.”Melissa further wished good luck to the new representatives of the Roseau Central Constitution. She mentioned, “I wish all the participants good luck in this endeavour. I am truly proud!”
Earlier, Melissa took Twitter to announce that the Dominican government has been granting free access to agricultural land, free irrigation systems, greenhouses and workforce for six months to the young population of the Caribbean country.
The above announcement was made by Dominican Prime Minister Dr Roosevelt Skerrit and Ministry of Agriculture – Fidel Grant during an interactive session, which went live on DBS Talking Point.Reportedly, more plans about this will be announced by the Ministry of Agriculture in the upcoming weeks.
