Man kills girlfriend's sister before shooting himself in Guyana (Victim)
Guyana: A 24-year-old woman was shot by her twin sister's ex-boyfriend on Tuesday, leading to major injuries to her chest. The victim succumbed to her injuries on the spot. The deceased's body was identified by Ishanti Liverpool – the twin sister of the deceased. According to the Doctor, the woman died because of a gunshot injury to her chest.

The police officials identified the suspect as a 31-year-old Stephan Hope. The officials added that the suspect shot himself after shooting the woman who was a security guard. The suspect is currently hospitalised under police guard.

In a statement, the police headquarters said that the suspect was in a relationship with the deceased woman's sister. The preliminary inquiries have disclosed that around 00:20 hrs on Tuesday, the suspect went to the Hong Kong Chinese Supermarket located at Good Hope, ECD, where he met a 23-year-old, who at the time was armed with one AR 15 Rifle.

The suspect told his co-worker that the supervisor sent him to collect the rifle. The security officer told police officials that he made many calls to his supervisor via cell phone, which went unanswered. As a result, Hope collected the firearm with ammunition and went away.

It is alleged that Hope had earlier gone to the girlfriend's home and saw her sitting inside a car parked in front of her house. As such, he left, went to Good Hope, and came back about thirty minutes later.

At that time, the suspect was armed with the AR-15 Rifle, where he entered the house and met Ashanti, who was at home in bed. He asked about her sister's whereabouts, who had left the house a short while before he arrived.

Following this, Ashanti ran outside, where she made her way out of the yard when the suspect opened fire at her with the rifle. She continued running and collapsed in a nearby yard. The suspect then went onto his motorcycle and left the scene immediately.

According to the reports, the Government Pathologist Dr Nehaul Singh performed a post-mortem examination at the Georgetown Public Hospital.
