Jamaica Fuel Prices: Gas increases by $2.60, diesel reduces by $1.89

The motorists saw an increase at the pumps in the price of E10-87 and E10-90 while they saw a decrease in prices of diesel and ULSD.

Jamaica Fuel Prices: Gas increases by $2.60, diesel reduces by $1.89
The petroleum refinery of Jamaica, Petrojam, has announced major changes to the prices of petroleum products with the price of gasoline seeing an increase of over $2. According to the information, the change in prices came in effect from Thursday, April 19, 2024.

The motorists saw an increase at the pumps in the price of E10-87 and E10-90 while they saw a decrease in prices of diesel and ULSD.

The 90 octane fuel will be sold for $183.54 per litre which is an increase of $2.60. The old price of the product was $180.95.

The cost of 87 octane fuel has also witnessed an increase of $2.59. The new price of the product now stands  at $177.26 up from $174.67. Meanwhile, the price of automotive diesel fuel has been reduced by $1.89. The old price of the fuel was $181.73 while the new price has been set at $179.84. The Ultra Low Sulphur Diesel has also seen a minor decline of $1.87. The new price of the product now stands at $186.06 while the old price was $187.93.

The increase of prices of gas in Jamaica have left the consumers in a state of tension as they are urging the government to lessen their burden by some extent by decreasing these prices. The citizens are saying that the continuous increase in the fuel products prices are a cause of concern and will lead to a heightened burden on them.

Meanwhile, the company said that the prices changes were made in keeping up with the cost of international fuel prices and were necessary.
