Over the past week, Dominica established diplomatic relations with Eritrea and Uzbekistan. On May 11, a ceremony was held at the Permanent Mission of the Commonwealth of Dominica to the United Nations in New York, where Ambassador Loreen Bannis-Roberts and Ambassador Sophia Tesfamariam Yohannes signed a joint communication.
A few days later, Ambassador Bannis-Roberts and her counterpart in Uzbekistan, Ambassador Bakhtiyor Ibragimov, also established bilateral relations to bring about further mutual cooperation between the two countries.
Although small, Dominica has proven its presence worldwide. Over the past few weeks, Dominica has also signed diplomatic agreements with both Nepal and Afghanistan, growing the small island's commitment to its diplomatic presence worldwide.
Dominica has been campaigning for its 'Global Community' for a number of years, strengthened by the signing of bilateral relations, the introduction of visa-free exemptions and increasing cooperation with countries in areas of mutual interest.
"We are part of a global community," Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit said in a recent webinar with Forbes Russia.
"We are a member of the United Nations and many other international institutions, and we have excellent bilateral relations with a number of countries. We certainly encourage the level of co-operation, co-operation and interaction. But our desire to help people in our country welcome, go beyond just tourism. ' stated Prime Minsiter Skerrit.Latest
