Dominica appoints resident ambassador to Russia
Nuri Katz has been named in role

The government of Dominica has appointed Nuri Katz as resident ambassador to the Russia.
According to the Ministry of Foreign and CARICOM Affairs, the decision as made as part of the “quest to fully establish a diplomatic presence in Russia and further develop the bilateral relations that exist between the two countries.”
Katz will formally commence his duties following the presentation of his credentials to Russia’s head of state.
He is a graduate of the McGill University in Montreal and holds a bachelor’s degree in international eelations, with a minor in Russian. He is the founding member of a number of businesses in Canada, Russia and Ukraine. Katz is a special advisor to the Dominica Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit on matters pertaining to the Russian Federation.
As ambassador of Dominica to Russia, Katz will work closely with the foreign ministry to “ensure effective implementation of Dominica’s foreign policy with regard to the Russian Federation,” said a statement.
“Additionally, the ambassador designate will be charged with the responsibility of representing Dominica’s interests as well as the interests of Dominican nationals residing in the Russian Federation.”
Dominica established diplomatic relations with Russia in May 1995.
The Ministry of Foreign and CARICOM Affairs welcomes the appointment and looks forward to working with the ambassador designate, a statement added.
