Cruise-ships enquiring vaccine status of Dominica: PM Roosevelt Skerrit
The government of Dominica officially commissioned the Wesley Health and Wellness Centre, which has been named on Nurse Emelda James. Prime Minister Dr. Roosevelt Skerrit, health minister Irvin McIntyre and other cabinet members were present at the ceremony.

Dominica: The government of Dominica officially commissioned the Wesley Health and Wellness Centre, which has been named on Nurse Emelda James. Prime Minister Dr. Roosevelt Skerrit, health minister Irvin McIntyre and other cabinet members were present at the ceremony.
Prime Minister Dr. Roosevelt Skerrit stated that the government is consistently developing the most comprehensive health-care network per-capita in the Caribbean.
"Dominica Labour Party government believes that health-care and education are the foundation of any developing society." added the Dominican Prime Minister.
The government of Dominica aims to build twelve health centers in the first quarter of 2021, while eight of these are also structured and awaiting official commissions. These health centers are named on the medical health-professionals for the exceptional contribution to the health-sector of Dominica.
He urged people to show their commitment towards the government's efforts to create a healthy society. Prime Minister invited people to contribute to the ongoing coronavirus vaccine drive.
PM Skerrit stated that taking a vaccine is not only significant in the personal well-being of an individual, but it is also eminent achieve the goals of fully-reopening the economy. He asked people to consult their medical practitioners in case of any apprehensions.
Furthermore, he stated that cruise-ships are already asking about the number of people who received the vaccine in the country as part of their planning to return to Dominica.
He stated that while the country has kept the number of infections relatively low, the pandemic impacted its livelihoods.
PM also noted that this pandemic has undoubtedly affected the development goals of Dominica.
PM Skerrit stated that we have fully established the vaccine's safety & the rollout of the vaccine is going worldwide.
"This challenging time is a time of unique opportunities & endless possibilities," he said.
"The biggest infrastructure project in the history of this country is taken place right here in this community; construction of an international airport would completely transform this nation in ways yet unimaginable," PM added.
