Bellevue Chopin Housing project: 114 Dominican families will get new houses in 2nd batch

The Bellevue Chopin Housing Project of Dominica government under progress for the resettlement of the people displaced after the Tropical Storm Erika in 2015 is set to achieve another milestone in the first quarter of 2019.
As many as 114 new doors will be opened to displaced families as the Dominica government to hand over the keys to their brand-new homes. There will be a total of 114 units in the second batch of handover from the Bellevue Chopin Housing Project.
[caption id="attachment_15915" align="alignnone" width="500"] Bellevue Chopin Housing Project - Zone A1 Site Progress as of January 19, 2019[/caption]In September 2016, the Government of Dominica launched the Bellevue Chopin Housing Projects to benefit the Petite Savanne residents displaced by tropical storm Erika. It consists of 340 – residential units, a commercial plaza, farmer’s market, and football pitch.
The units to be handed over will consist of: thirty-two 3-bedroom townhouses, twelve 3-bedroom apartments, and eight 4-bedroom semi-detached houses for a total of 52 units in Bellevue Chopin – Area A1. In addition, a combination of twelve 3-bedroom and twelve 2-bedroom apartments units in Area C1 and fourteen 4-bedroom detached houses in Area C2 are ready to be occupied and will be handed over.
As the construction swiftly progresses, the Commercial Plaza and Community Centre are on track to open in March 2019.
All Housing Dominica projects are being funded fully by the Citizenship by Investment Programme (CBI) and are being built using modern construction techniques to ensure hurricane-resilient houses.
