24-year-old shot multiple times as Antigua records first murder of 2024
As per the reports, the victim was rushed to the hospital after being shot several times, and police immediately responded and rushed to the scene at Christian Street, where the shooting took place around 7 pm on Sunday.

Just seven days into New Year, Antigua and Barbuda already recorded its first murder. As per reports, the victim was a 24-year-old who was shot multiple times in Grays Farm while attending a party. The deceased was identified as Kieron Hutson, who was brutally killed on Sunday evening.
As per the reports, the victim was rushed to the hospital after being shot several times. Following the incident, the police immediately responded and rushed to the scene at Christian Street. Notably, the victim was pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital. The eyewitnesses told police that Kieron Hutson was approached by an armed man who opened fire on him on Christian Street before vanishing in the crowd.The Emergency Medical Services arrived on the scene within six minutes of receiving the call. However, the medical officials found a faint pulse and began administering CPR while rushing him to the Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre.
Police is investigating the cause of the heinous murder and a high level probe have been launched. Any person with additional information is asked to contact the CID at 462-3913.
This murder has left the whole community in a state of shock as the time being only seven days after the start of 2024 is rather disturbing compared to 2023's first homicide, which took place in the month of May.Friends and relatives have flooded social media expressing shock and sorrow at word of the passing of 2024's first homicide victim, Kieron Hutson.
"The year just started too many guns in this little island away all the guns come from. Gone too soon crack," wrote a user named Pamsy Ampeltone, while another user named Pätrîçîä Charles said that he had just seen him in the morning of Sunday, and his death made it much more disturbing.
A user named Sandra wrote that young people are being handed guns in Antigua, which is why the murder rate is increasing. "Gun gun and more guns in the hands of young people," she outlined.
