Prime Minister stated that the Regional Emergency Shelters are funded under the 'European Union 11th EDF State and Resilience Building Contract for Rehabilitation post-Hurricane Maria.'
"I conveyed our gratitude to the European Union for support of Dominica's aspirations to become a climate-smart and resilient country," stated the Prime Minister.
Wasilewska served as the EU's ambassador to Jamaica and is presently in Barbados.
After the 2017 Hurricane Maria, European Union pledged the support of 20 million euros between the period 2018 and 2023 in order to help Dominica "build back better". The support is aimed at helping construct resilient shelters and homes islandwide, including in the Kalinago territory.Author Profile
