PM Roosevelt Skerrit congratulates Mia Mottley on resounding victory
Prime Minister of Dominica Dr Roosevelt Skerrit congratulated Mia Mottley on her party's resounding victory in the January 19 general elections.

Furthermore, he added, "I look forward to working together and taking the Dominica-Barbados relationship to a higher level". Mia Mottley led Barbados Labour Party to sweep the opposition in the snap elections by winning on all 30 parliament constituencies. The January 19, 2022 elections were first to be held after Barbados broke down its ties with the British monarchy and declared itself "Republic". PM Mottley also appointed Dame Sandra Prunella Mason. PM Mia Mottley promised to make 10,000 new homes in the coming five years. According to political analysts, the election was a direct contest between the ruling Barbados Labour Party (BLP) and the Democratic Labour Party (DLP); however, the opposition failed to make an impact on the electoral. Besides the Prime Minister of Dominica, other PM's of CARICOM countries also congratulated Mia Mottley.
