I love politics and helping people, says Melissa Skerrit on this week's Anou Palay
Ms Skerrit stated that stepping into the shoes of a parliament representative has come with its excitement and responsibilities.

Melissa Skerrit, the parliament representative from Roseau Central, joined the Prime Minister of Dominica Roosevelt Skerrit for his weekly broadcast titled "Anou Palay" where the husband-wife duo discussed the new enhancement policies of the country.
Melissa Skerrit, the parliament representative from Roseau Central and the wife of the Dominican Prime Minister, stated that since the COVID-19 pandemic crisis took place in the country, her charity works have been assisting people with various efforts.
She added that high-school and college students are expected to receive free laptops under the government initiated, and she also welcomed students to the Labour house to enrol themselves for "back-to-school" scholarship programme.
Speaking about the Roseau enhancement project, Ms Skerrit asserted that the government continues to build and construct a stronger and safer Dominica and is working towards improving both residential and commercial Roseau.
"We are building free public restrooms in strategic locations across Roseau to make it easy for pregnant women and mothers coming from the countryside to the city," added Melissa Skerrit.
The parliament representative stated that the elderly programme is going to be expanded to different areas of the country where hurricane preparation kits are going to be distributed by her charity efforts.
Furthermore, she discussed her efforts of keeping a parallel space between being a parliament representative, mother and a wife. She stated she loves politics and helping the people.
Ms Skerrit stated that stepping into the shoes of a parliament representative has come with its excitement and responsibilities.
