He said the number of infections increased in December 2021, and on average, the country is recorded around 96 cases daily. The highest number of cases were registered on 31 January 2022, with around 200 people testing positive, the majority of them having mild to moderate symptoms. National epidemiologists said most of the cases are coming from 18 to 39, and the majority of hospitalizations are also in the age group of 18 to 59.  "This is all through from August 2021 to February 2022; the 18 to 39 age group is consistent all through the period," said Dr Ahmed. He said the proposition of 12 years to 17 years age group testing coronavirus positive decreased from September 2021 onwards. Besides this, Dr Ahmed said 70 percent of the positive patients are experiencing mild to moderate symptoms, while 15 percent are severe and around 5% critical.  Clinical presentations for this wave (period late December to present) • Mild symptoms in general • Most present with low-grade fever. • Generalized body and joint pain. • Nausea and vomiting - like gastritis without epigastric pain • Some had upper respiratory tract symptoms, which could be co-infection • But no loss of taste or smell
