Dominica celebrates United Nations Day by planting trees
The government of Dominica commemorated the United Nations day by planting various types of trees at Laudat Village on Sunday.

The Minister of Health, Wellness and New Investment, Dr Irving McIntyre, stated that this year in recognition, it was decided to have a planting of trees, particularly in communities where IOM made interventions.
The minister and several others planted fruit trees, including mangoes, soursop, golden apple, sugar apple, and flowers. The plantation was done at the Laudat Village Health Centre and School.
Thanking the improvement committee, Minister McIntyre stated," I extend my sincere gratitude to the Laudat Village Improvement committee for allowing me to be part of such a significant event."Besides this, he extended congratulations to the Unhaved Nations and all its sub-groupings working in Dominica and internationally.
Furthermore, Dr Irving McIntyre stated that nowadays political world with the realities of climate change, the relevance of the UN could not be overemphasized.
"We're thankful for the many interventions which has touched and impacted the lives of many Dominicans. We look forward to continuing and strengthening our relationship for the betterment of us all." added the Minister.
He stated that the tree planting program continues on community day of service.
