Ministry of Health and Wellness of Dominica inaugurated the cardiology department at the Dominica-China Friendship Hospital.

Ministry of Health and Wellness of Dominica inaugurated the cardiology department at the Dominica-China Friendship Hospital. Health Minister Dr Irving McIntyre stated that the country witnessed a milestone in the healthcare system with the recent addition.Health Minister Irving McIntyre thanked Dr Wu from the Chinese Technical Assistance Team and our own Dominican Cardiologist Dr Rachel Andrew for their assistance. He stated that the proactive and dedicated efforts of the doctors will always be remembered.
The cardiology department is equipped with 24hr halter monitoring, while earlier patients had to travel overseas to get such procedures done. Other amenities include a 24hr ambulatory blood pressure monitoring, external pacemaker capabilities, echocardiograms and the latest 12 lead ECG technology.
