Kyiv: A 21-year-old Ukrainian woman gets married on the first day of the Russian military invasion in the country. Yaryna Arievagot, who works as a deputy at Kyiv City Council, states she got married seeing the unforeseeable future amid the air raid sirens in the Ukrainian capital.
"We maybe can die, and we just wanted to be together before all of that," the 21-year-old stated.
Arievagot's wedding was earlier scheduled for May 6 this year, but seeing the current situation of Ukraine, she, along with her partner (Svyatoslav Fursin), decided to get married immediately.
The pictures of her wedding have been shared via a Facebook handle with a heartfelt caption that states, "Ukraine is important to continue to resist fear, put your hope in the Lord, and find reasons to rejoice even in the darkest of times."
"Therefore, the whole family of the local Orthodox Church of Ukraine today we congratulate the young family of Yaryna and Svyatoslav, who has now been surrounded in the Trichsvyatelsky Temple, on the bell of the St. Michael's Golden Monastery. At the entrance to the temple, they were roared by pigeons, and at the exit, they met air defence sirens.May God bless this young couple."
"Let us continue to be courageous and pray for our country, our people and our defenders, and remember, "They will fight against you, but will not defeat you; because I am with you," says the Lord, to save you", the Facebook post of the religious organisation further quotes.
People reacted on the post and congratulated the couple for their new beginning while expressing their concern over the present situation of Ukrainian citizens.
A social media handle with name of - Lyuba Murza cited, "That's a good sign on such a tragic day for Ukraine: young, beautiful, true Ukrainians have joined their fates, and God blessed them! So God bless our Ukraine, accepting our prayers and pleading! And I wish the new family the fate of happiness with God in married life!".
