Hollywood Superstar Leonardo DiCaprio donates $10 million to Ukraine - birthplace of his grandmother

Many people are coming forward and assisting the war-hit country - Ukraine, and now many Hollywood superstars and celebrities are stepping ahead to assist the country and its people. Leonardo DiCaprio has made a donation of worth $10 million in order to provide support to the people of Ukraine.
Today (March 9) marks the 13th day of the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Although, the actor is having a personal connection with the land of Ukraine, as his maternal grandmother - Helene Indenbirken, was born in Odessa, Ukraine.
Reports are that the actor was mainly raised by her mother but was very close to her maternal grandmother. She always has been a great support to the actor, who in the year 1917, she migrated to Germany along with her parents.
The birth of DiCaprio's mother took place in Germany. The actor's grandmother lost her life in the year 2008 at the age of 93.
Although the actor did not want to reveal about his good deed of the donation, and the information was shared by the International Visegrad Fund. It is a project established with the motive to provide financial support for such issues raised at the international levels.
J.K. Rowling (the author of the - Harry Potter) made a donation of - £1 million ($1.3 million) for charity Lumos' emergency appeal in Ukraine.
She shared the information on Twitter, citing, "I will personally match donations to this appeal, up to - £1m. Thank you so much to everyone who has already donated; you are enabling @lumos to do important work for some of the most vulnerable children in Ukraine."
Celebrity couple - Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds donated a total sum amount of $1 million to Ukraine. Writing on February 26, the couple wrote, "In 48 hours, countless Ukrainians were forced to flee their homes to neighbouring countries. They need protection. When you donate, we'll match it up to $1,000,000, creating double the support."
