Two killed, one missing after Hurricane Agatha caused flooding in Cuba
Hurricane Agatha resulted in heavy rainfall and flooding in Cuba, resulting in the death of two individuals. As per authorities, a person is also missing in the capital city Havana.

The massive downpour and flooding caused a power outage in many areas, making the condition even worse for people struggling due to the weather conditions.

"Strong, heavy rain and lightning storms have been impacting the western and central parts of Cuba with accumulations larger than 200 millimetres (eight inches)," the Cuban Weather Office predicted.

Agatha made landfall in southern Mexico and the Atlantic, with the potential to redevelop as a tropical storm, according to the Miami-based US National Hurricane Center.

"The deaths of two people in Havana province and a missing person in Pinar del Rio are deeply grieved," the Cuban News Agency reported. With portions of the capital flooded, photos from official media showed rescuers in central Havana evacuating people in boats.

Heavy rains "caused flooding in communities ranging from Pinar del Ro (western extreme) to Sancti Spritus (Center) and the Isla de la Juventud Special Municipality (south of Havana)," according to the weather service. Each year, the Atlantic hurricane season begins on June 1 and runs on November 30 for the North Atlantic, Gulf of Mexico, and Caribbean region.
