It holds a significant mark as it is listed on the UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization) calendar. Jamaica has a great contribution and role in uniting people in all the corners of the globe, and is the highlight of being in the list of UNESCO calendar. In 2015, Kingston, a capital of Jamaica was declared as a UNESCO Creative city of Music, and since then, the International Jazz Day is being celebrated in Jamaica.  This most famous event raises awareness of the benefits of Jazz as an educational tool, and a force for promoting dialogue among cultures, freedom of expression, and mutual understanding.  The International Jazz Day will feature several of the artists who will set the mark of enthusiastic celebrations in the country. The list to the performers are as follows:
  • American Curtis Lundy Quintet
  • The JaMM Orchestra
  • A vocalist Keisha Patterson
  • Dr. Kathy Brown Trio
All these artists will grace the land of Jamaica with their musical beats. Along with this, there will be the vendors who will offer an eclectic assortment of arts, crafts, food and beverages from the popular cultural Kingston Night Market. This will add the spirit of creativeness and festivity. Considerably, Jamaica’s music holds a vibrant concept, is rich and holds an international appeal. And, performances at the festival would extend fun vibes in the country with all the joyous moments. From all the artists performing, Lundy Quintet will have a special feature at the concert. He is not just an artist with a single role, however, is a double bass player, composer, producer and a director. For over 40 years, the artist has recorded and performed with many legendary musicians, including the vocalist Betty Carter.
